Sri Sai Satcharita says, “When Baba was in a cheerful mood, He used to sing merrily. Baba used to sing in very clear and sweet tones. He also used to wear anklets with small bells and dance too.” He not only encouraged the performances of musicians and dance artists, but also rewarded them with blissful spiritual experiences.
In a humble attempt to follow Baba’s footsteps, Sai Samsthan USA embarked upon cultural committee in the year 2017 with the mission of following and spreading the life and teachings of Shri Sai Baba of Shirdi.
In the year 2017, more than 30 local dance and music schools participated to perform classical music and dances, presentations on ‘Sab Ka Malik Ek’ and Dance production ‘Guru Sai Leela’ – a dance drama on life and teachings of Shri Sai Baba. Over 670 young artists performed in various programs such as Kala Manjari, Vasanta Navaratri & Sri Rama Navami Celebrations, Gurupournima Celebrations, Shri Shirdi Sai Mahotsav, Sarad Navaratri & Maha Samadhi Celebrations.
It’s also our pleasure to inform you all that we are planning to start ‘SAI DURBAR’ – a platform that provides an opportunity to young cultural artists ready to give full-fledged musical and dance performances. We will send more information soon.
Apart from the cultural programs, couple of groups were motivated to chant ‘Sri Laitha Sahasra Nama’ & ‘Hanuman Chalisa’ on every first Sunday of the month and sing ‘Soundarya Lahari’ on every second Sunday of the month.
